Hypothermia

Goat with hypothermia

Poor thing just needs to be held.

I had a nice, sweet post about saving this little guy’s life today. But something wonked out and the whole blog post ended up in the photo caption.
This is Patches, apparently. He and his brothers are the second set of triplets born on the farm this…ahem, winter. I should probably let the folks who took our sheep know that the goats both had triplets. Just in case.
Anyway, the adventure of saving Patches involved a trip to the elementary school and the orthodontist, and keeping a baby goat with hypothermia stuffed in our jackets for a couple of hours. And then moving his brother into the house. His brother is doing great now, and the third guy, in the barn, seems perky and just fine. Patches is tiny, though, and might take a bit to come back. His temp is still low, but he should be all right to go back to the barn sometime tomorrow.
But for tonight, there is a slumber party in Meryem’s room. Don’t tell my husband.
